Questions & Answers
How can counseling help me?
People come to counseling for different reasons. Counseling provides a safe non-judgmental environment to discuss your concerns with trained licensed professionals. Through the use of problem solving skills, behavioral techniques, active listening, and mindfulness counselors guide and partner with their client to determine your needs and goals to achieve awareness and self-growth.
Is coaching right for me?
Coaching is a collaborative effort between the client and coach. If you are ready to make positive changes in your life to help achieve your dreams and goals then coaching may be right for you. Coaching can help with confidence, self –awareness, dating, careers, stress management, relationships, and overall balance in life.
How many sessions will it take?
The number of sessions will be determined at the 2nd visit when your counselor or coach presents a plan of care. The plan of care is individualized per client and their needs. It outlines goals, homework, and other valuable information that is beneficial in guiding the client in their care. The plan of care will be reviewed throughout counseling/coaching to review progress.
Why do you not accept insurance?
When you use insurance benefits for counseling, a “label” or diagnosis is required, such as Major Depression, Anxiety Disorder, etc. Unfortunately, this label follows you in your medical records and can dictate your level of care. Kim Kares Counseling & Coaching doesn’t accept insurance to protect your health records, maintain high standards of confidentiality, and provide the highest quality of care.
